Bellwood's 110...

Land rover 110 County Station wagon

This Vehicle was purchased in 1996 by its current owner Keith Bellwood who at present is the Chairman of Nottingham Land Rover Club.

When the vehicle was acquired it was mostly standard other than the spot lights on the roof, but with its factory finished beluga black paintwork it proved irresistible to me due to it being a rare colour and being vat free! (It’s a long story).

The first mod was to fit a good alarm immobiliser to protect against thieving little monsters! Then central locking was installed to all doors, this was interfaced with the alarm key fob.(This was before Land Rover offered central locking as an option).

Land rover deep dish Alloy wheels with BFG All Terrain tyres complimented the Black paint work.

Most of the modifications are for practical reasons only, the steering guard the chequer plate and the winch were all practical, the suspension upgrade with scorpion racing springs gas shockers and polybushed suspension links all improve the vehicle handling. Behind the grill is a very large Ali Sport intercooler this combined with a fuel pump tweak gives excellent pulling power throughout the rev range.

The raised air intake was fitted to allow the vehicle to go into deep water without the risk of sucking water into the engine.

Genuine Seat covers and over mats to protect the inside from mud / water and a genuine station wagon dog guard keeps the dogs off the front seats.

The last little mod was a hands free phone kit, fitted to keep the police happy and a high level brake light to improve the lighting at the rear.

This year (2008) has seen a set of 5 new doors purchased, painted and fitted, not a cheap option but cheaper than buying a new Vehicle especially when you look at the £400 road tax?

The vehicle will be going in for a full top to bottom paint job this year, but I couldn’t decide on the actual shade of Black so I had the new doors done in Java but now they are on I have decided to have it done in the original Beluga.
